Konquerer menu problems - after plugins installed

Hi

My problem is that I downloaded some plugins for Konquerer and installed them but since then the navigation side panel has disappeared, and keeps on disapperaing after every session - I have to view the main toolbar to access this panel. Also, as far as I can see the GO and the WINDOW menu items are missing - I notice that they are visible on some screenshots of Konquerer.

Is there any way to get these back up to behave and work normally? Should I try and get rid of the plugins or might that just make things worse?

Is this typical of installing plugins etc? - I am a newbie as regards Linux and KDE and at this stage don't feel very confident in deciding to change over from MS to Linux. I have huge confidence in MS but would like to have the same confidence in Linux/KDE - PLEASE renew my confidence!

TIA

Lou
