Desktop icons apeared after new login.

Howdy folks.

I logged out of kde by presssing control-alt-delete simultanteously. I then logged back in. When I did, the entire contents of /home/me was displayed on the desktop via dozens of icons (which represented the various directories and files).

When I tried to move the icons to the trash, it was clear that these icons represented the actual files and directories, not just links to them--so if I deleted the icons the corresponding icons and directories would be deleted.

Right now, to solve the problem I've just disabled all desktop icons.

Does anyone know what happened and how to fix it?

Thanks.

RE: Desktop icons apeared after new login.

Have the icons moved or copied from your home folder? In the first case, just move them back from ~/Desktop to ~. Otherwise just trash those desktop icons.
