[KOPETE] Adding self on the user list

Hi,

I've known for a while that for some reason kopete won't let you have yourself on your buddy list. This is the one and only thing that keeps me from using kopete, which is very unfortunate since I'd really like to drop gaim/pidgin. I've seen this issue discussed once or twice in mailing lists but I never found a definitive answer to WHY kopete doesn't allow this.

All the other IM clients i've used allow this (rougly 8 of them), including the official protocol clients and web-based clients. It's a nice thing for some people to have, and since it's not against the regular operation of the services Kopete is trying to provide it seems like it's an artificial limitation imposed by Kopete.

Ideally it would be nice to let it perform the same was as every other IM client in this respect, however if that's not possible then at least provide a way to REMOVE your name so the warning window doesn't pop up every time you start Kopete, or have a way to suppress this message. The way this works in it's current form forces some users to either endure a nag screen every time they want to use Kopete, or to use another peice of software in order to remove themselves before using Kopete.

Other than this issue I think Kopete is great, and I'd really like to be able to use it.

thanks
