[Kopete] Messaging someone not on Contact List?

After a few years of being away, I've rediscovered the joy of KDE, and Kopete, thanks to Kopete's OTR plugin, I can finally almost entirely rid myself of GNOME. ;)

I do have one small issue, and it's a bit of an annoying one - it seels that Kopete was designed with the user list in mind. I have a rather full user list, and often I just need to fire off a 'single shot' message to someone I am working on a project with - however, I can't, unless I add them to my Contact List.

I've searched the Wiki, and browsed the docs, but I can not find a way to message someone without them being added to my contacts. Please tell me that even if this is by design, there's some way I can tickle it into working.

Cheers for enhancing the KDE experience!

It's been nearly two months since my initial post, and I still am unable to find any way to send messages to users not in my Contact List with Kopete.

Either I'm incredibly dense, or Kopete is missing one of the basic useful functionalities of an IM client.
