KDE startup

I hope this is the right area for this question :P

Using Konstruct I installed much of the latest KDE desktop and apps in my user profile over my commercial edition (Xandros2) to try it out and setup all the needed environment variables in .bash_profile. It's nice!
But,
The splash screen always gets stuck on the first item, "Setting up interprocess communications" and just hangs there. Sometimes the desktop icons come up as well as window borders (including the title bar), but sometimes these items do not come up and I must reboot a few times.

I am hoping this is all related to the same problem.........

Based on this information, can anyone help me out?
Thank you,

RE: KDE startup

Did you installed KDE in a new directory or did you just replaced your old KDE-installation with the new one? If you did that, some configuration files could be left from the old KDE-version and that may be the reason for your problem.
