KDE User Login Crash !!

Hi all
I had a system hang when watching a DVD on Kaffeine. Shut down power in order to log back in. Unfortunately, KDE either hangs of crashes back to power up (?) whenever I try to log back into my user account. I can log in as root and also log in to a new user created... Any assistance, greatly appreciated... Any more information, don't hesitate to ask
