Can't set wallpaper

Hi to all,

I've been using KDE for a few years now with no problems, in Fedora, Kubuntu and now in Gentoo. But since I installed beryl I am no longer able to change the desktop background, neither color nor wallpaper.

I've tried to uninstall beryl, but the problem remains...

Any ideas? ?( ?(

RE: Can't set wallpaper

Same problem here, though I didn't install beryl. I got the problem since I changed my multiple screen setup (2 screens in xorg.conf, one on my monitor, the other my TV, no Xinerama or Twinview). Strangely enough switching to a single screen layout again didn't help. Even stranger, I can set backgrounds on my second screen (TV), but not on the monitor. Bug in 3.5.6?
I.

RE: Can't set wallpaper

Just do the following:
- If you care, save your session (which programs are opened after login) by logout-login
- Backup the following file somewhere and delete it: ~/.kde/share/config/kdesktoprc
- Press Ctrl-Alt-Backspace to kill the X server and then relogin
- Set your wallpaper again

The following bugreport describes the problem: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131374

Cheers, Florian
