Hello, need some help

This is the first time I am using Linux. A friend gave me Ubuntu with the KDE desktop..now I have an Acer 3050-1594 and I can't connect to my wireless router now. How do I go about letting Ubuntu find my wireless or even installing it if it needs to be installed..I just finished the installation and I'm not sure what to do next.

It depends which tools distro uses for such things. It would be better if you ask on a ubuntu / kubuntu forum:
