Error in Login manager?

Hiya all, I have been using Linux for a while now but am still pretty much a newb. I just recently found the login manager and thought that my customers would like this feature very much. I have a few who really do not like the login prompt. Everything seems to work well until I try to hit the Switch Users option in the K menu or Select Logout and End current Session. If the login manager is not loaded only the logout option is available and it takes you out to the command prompt. If the login manager is loaded with the mode: 4 option (Using Slackware 11 and the 2.6.20.4 kernel) hitting either of the above options gives you a black screen that requires a hard powerdown to exit. The reboot selection works as does the shutdown option, but it refuses to return to the login splash screen on KDE close. Any input here would be appreciated.
