Video previews in Konqueror

Hi,

I have lost my video previews i had with gnome when i switched to KDE. The icons were "flim" like and that was cool...

Anyone have an idea on how to fix this ?

Thanks

You need mplayer and this:
http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.php…s?content=41180

also konqueror by default uses xine to create previews (I think), but mplayer is much faster.

Thanks for the tip !

If konqueror uses xine, how can i set it up to use mplayer ?

I have pb installing the file :

[Valerie@0x535ca7cc mplayerthumbs-0.5b]$ ./configure
checking build system type... Invalid configuration `i686-pc-linux-oldld': machine `i686-pc-linux' not recognized
configure: error: /bin/sh admin/config.sub i686-pc-linux-oldld failed

What is going on ?...

Don't you have a repository where you can simply instal this package with a package manager?

hum ... yum can not find this package ...

yum search mplayerthumbs
Loading "installonlyn" plugin
Loading "allowdowngrade" plugin
Setting up repositories
Reading repository metadata in from local files
No Matches found

So i probably have to do this manually if this package is not in a repo.

Which brings me back to the problem i had when i tried the ./configure ....

I have solved part of the pb by installing kdemultimedia.

I now have preview. But it is a stupid preview as i takes the first frame. So for most of the previews, i have a black screen or the logo of the paramount ...

Yes, it is dumb, mplayerthumb is much better, try to install development packages and retry with compiling.
