Can't Log Into Kde

KDE PROBLEMS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
everytime i try to log into the KDE desktop, i get an error message saying that my session only lasted less than ten second and that i may be out of memory, i click on the details and it says not enough disk space /tmp. kde worked fine until i logged into enlightenment and installed java runtime environment. im still a linux noob and i like kde for its ease of use, i just want to know if there is a possible solution for this or if ill have to reinstall linux on the ps3.IM HOPING CAPS LOCK WILL ATTRACT ENOUGH ATTENTION FOR SOMEBODY TO GIVE ME EVEN A HALF ASSED SOLUTION TO MY PROBLEM.please any help is more than appreciated.

You should clean out the directory /tmp.

Best way to do that:

open a tty (with ctrl-alt-F2)
login as root
type init 3
type cd /tmp
type rm -r *
type init 5

and all should be well.
When back in kde, check you many disk space you have left and make sure you have enough of it.

Be aware: removing stuff as root with commands above is very powerfull.
Make sure that you only remove everyting in /tmp, and not in /, or your whole linux-installation will be permanently gone!!

thanks a bunch dude, i've been posting on the ps3 foruns and no one has been helping one bit. i did it without the init 3 because when i did it said daemon failed, but it still worked fine.
