System Notification sounds not playing

Hi there,

I think I've changed some settings around KDE and made it so that system notification sounds no longer play at all.

I get audio through amarok and mplayer just fine, and "test sound" works in the control panel.
However, when I try to preview any sound in System Notifications panel, I get nothing.

Could someone help me diagnose/fix this?

Thanks

go to [audio and multimedia -> notifications] in kcontrol and check the player settings (right bottom corner)

Good call, it was set to "No audio output".

After setting it to "Use the KDE sound system" and restarting the sound system (ALSA), it started working.

Thank you!
