Internet browsers not responding?

Hi, I have just installed openSUSE 10.2 and am running KDE 3.5. After completing the install, I attempted to use firefox to access the internet, that's where the problems begin...Firstly, it took about a minute to open, THEN it wouldn't load the homepage- a openSUSE page by default. Thinking there was a problem with the page, tried to open google. After waiting about 5mins the page finally loaded, searched something random, waited another five mins for a response. When trying to access a website other than google firefox times out saying the server was taking too long to respond? I'm guessing it's not a problem with be my connection because Konqueror works just fine and displays pages instantly. I also tried installing Opera thinking it may have been a firefox problem but I get the same problem - either taking a ridiculous amount of time to display a simple page such as google or not loading at all? Does any have any idea as to why this could be happening? Thanks!

RE: Internet browsers not responding?

I think you have more luck at a more general Linux forum or mailing list, since this is not really KDE related.
