KDE Bluetooth Framework Problem

Just purchased a Belkin Bluetooth USB dongle...when I plug it in I get a popup labeled KDE Bluetooth Framework - KBluetoothd saying "Failed to connect to the SDP server"...details show
"Please make sure that sdpd is running; without it...blah, blah". Typing sdpd in the terminal doesn't seem to change anyting. Tried the Settings=>Internet=>Bluetooth Services...when I can get it to come up, it locks if I change anything.

Clueless here...there's precious little on any of the forums on bluetooth problems...anyone have an idea of what I should do here?
