part of my panel menu is gone

I think my 2yr old somehow deleted the "administrator tools" branch of the menu. I know that the apps are still there because I can open kcontrol from a terminal, and that is one of the missing app links. I am new to linux, and am not sure just what has gone missing.
Could someone please tell me where to find the file with the menu entries? and if anyone could give advice on the best way get the missing entries back that would be great.

I am running KDE 3.5.5 on Fedora 5, if you need more details just let me know.

you can try to look in kmenuedit if the menu is hidden for some reason.

If you can't find it there, you could try to reset the kmenu by moving the menu files/directories to another place and restart kde.

You can find the menu files and directories in ~/.local and in ~/.kde/share/applnk

many thanks rinse
renaming the ~/.kde/share/aplnk folder made kde re-populate the menu
problem solved :D all the configure utilities are there again.

...back to making a fresh install look and act "right" again.
