I like both OpenOffice.org and KOffice, generally. Unfortunately OOo looks and feels absolutely terrible under KDE (a shame, since it looks and runs quite nicely under Windows and GNOME), so I tend to avoid using it whenever possible. But, in trying to write some basic formulas, I've become hopelessly stuck. I must say I feel rather stupid. At this point in time, I have spent at least 2 hours trying to figure out how to insert a multiplication or division sign into KFormula. Unfortunately asterisks and forward slashes simply don't cut it when trying to write up a good-looking document.
Opening a formula from OOo Math shows multiplication and division signs, so it obviously has support for them. The list of insertable symbols contains many that I've never even seen before. Surely the problem is with me...
