Automatic Connection to a Wireless Network using KNetworkManager

Firstly, I am a bit of a Linux Noob! I have just managed to get my Compaq Presario V4110EA connected wirelessly to my home network....result! 8)

However.....everytime I start the computer up it tries to logon to the wired network connection in KNetworkManager and then stop. I then have to manually select my network and enter the WEP key. Is there a way of making my network the default connection and for it to save the key, thus enabling automatic connection? Please help....I'm almost a very happy bunny.
