My File Groups Idea

Love to hear what folks think about this.

File Groups

Imagine that you are going to grab files from a number of different directories on your system and do "something" with them. The best example I can think of would be audio files (mp3 or Ogg) that you want to put on a player or write to a CD.

Inside Konqueror you navigate to each directory and highlight the files in each that you want to "group" for the operation. At each directory, once files are highlighted, you would right mouse and select an item in the menu that could be called "Add to file group".

Then, after you have "grouped" the files, you navigate to the mounted volume like a media player flash drive and then right mouse again to get a menu item like "Copy File Group Here" or "Move File Group Here". Konqueror would keep track of the paths to the files selected and use that list to fetch the files for the operation.

It is very much like being able to highlight files in a single directory now and then right click to select "Move File to..." or "Copy File To...". The expansion would just allow doing the same thing over multiple directories.

Sounds good to me, but of course I have no idea how much work it would be.

Sound off folks
