How to configure the applet "System Menu"

Hi,

I use KDE 3.5.6 and I would like to configure the applet "System Menu".

I think that the applet is also named "kickermenu_systemmenu".
=> /usr/share/apps/kicker/menuext/systemmenu.desktop
==> X-KDE-Library=kickermenu_systemmenu

On my system up-to-date : locate kickermenu_systemmenu return :

$ locate kickermenu_systemmenu
/usr/lib/kde3/kickermenu_systemmenu.la
/usr/lib/kde3/kickermenu_systemmenu.so
/usr/share/locale/fr/LC_MESSAGES/libkickermenu_systemmenu.mo
/usr/share/locale-langpack/en_AU/LC_MESSAGES/libkickermenu_systemmenu.mo
/usr/share/locale-langpack/en_CA/LC_MESSAGES/libkickermenu_systemmenu.mo
/usr/share/locale-langpack/en_GB/LC_MESSAGES/libkickermenu_systemmenu.mo
/usr/share/locale-langpack/en_NZ/LC_MESSAGES/libkickermenu_systemmenu.mo
/usr/share/locale-langpack/fr/LC_MESSAGES/libkickermenu_systemmenu.mo

I see no config file (.rc , ...). So how to add or remove an existing items in this applet ? The existing items are "hard coded" ?!

Thanks for feedback.

RE: How to configure the applet "System Menu"

The files in $KDEDIR/share/apps/systemview define the menu contents. You can add more items by making a dir ~/.kde/share/apps/systemview and put valid *.desktop files in it.

Thanks !

I can add items in this applet, if I add .desktop in ~/.kde/share/apps/systemview (after add file a restart of kde is necessary to view the changes in the applet).

To remove an "existing" item (an .desktop not in ~/.kde/share/apps/systemview) delete the .desktop in the $KDEDIR/share/apps/systemview (need to be root).
