kde konqueror

I'm using debian and recently i installed kde. The problem is that konqueror dosen't show enything in media:/ I look in the knoppix distro and there are all hdd partitions fdd and cd-rom's. Second thing i'm interested how hal and all automonting works in kde and enabled in my desktop computer. If anybody could gide me how to do this i would be very grateful :)

I think you select what shows up in media:/ somewhere in the Control Center.

KDE doesn't mount stuff you insert right away, but only when you say Open In New Window or somesuch.

Somewhere :) could you tell me more exact place in kde control center. I tried to find it myself but i don't know witch option is responsible for it.

Not sure since I don't have KDE in front of me atm. But if you right click the media panel in kicker, you should be able to get to that screen without the control center.
