not able to locate libXext while configuring kdevelop-3.4.0

I am getting following error , when i am cofiguring kdevelop-3.4.0 source code on red hat enerprise linux3

*********************************************************************
checking for X... libraries /usr/lib, headers /usr/include
checking for IceConnectionNumber in -lICE... no
checking for libXext... no
configure: error: We need a working libXext to proceed. Since configure
can't find it itself, we stop here assuming that make wouldn't find
them either.
*********************************************************************

the configuration not able to locate the libXext and i am not able to resolve the problem.

i shall be glad if anyone can help me in it.

Make sure you have the XOrg development packages installed.
