cannot connect to any messenger protocol with any messenger format

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone knows where to check or how to get this going for me.

I have Suse10.1 running on kde, and none of the messenger programs i've tried (kopete, gaim, aMsn) are able to connect to msn, yahoo, icq, or aim.
on trying to connect to msn i get a "connection actively refused" message.

The thing is, i am able to connect to all these protocols when booted into windows on the same machine in the same network.

Is there something i have to enable for messenging to work?

Thanks. :)

RE: cannot connect to any messenger protocol with any messenger format

You should try a more generic forum than this one, this is geared towards KDE.
