Kopete - how can I edit themes?

Hello all,

I've just given KDE a go at using it full-time as my desktop and I must say I'm almost totally convinced to switch from Gnome (please, no flamewars...). My question relates to chat window styles for Kopete, not emoticons. I'm not looking to create my own, at least at this point, just edit what I've already got installed. I'm using 0.12 Kopete and I want to make some changes to the Clear theme, but it's not where I'd expect in ~/.kde/share/apps/kopete/styles. It comes by default with my install (Ubuntu with kde-core, not Kubuntu), so I guess it's somewhere in /usr. I know CSS and HTML so once I find the file I won't have a problem. Anyone know where they're kept?

Thanks.

RE: Kopete - how can I edit themes?

$KDEDIR/share/apps/kopete/styles/Clear

Where KDEDIR is the prefix where KDE is installed. Normally it should correctly expand to the right dir, otherwise look what your prefix is with kde-config --prefix.

Note though, that you need some knowledge of XSL as well in order to modify your Kopete themes.

Cheers, that's just where they were (/usr/*).

Thanks.

of course, user installed themes are in the location you mentioned. you should copy the system themes there, and change them (and their name) instead of changing stuff in the system folder(s). that will lead to trouble when upgrading.
