change keyboard layout for the "Greeter" (Login-screen??) [SOLVED]

hi!

i am using a dvorak keymap in both kde and the bash. the only thing, where there is still another layout active (I dont know if itÙs german or english). i know that i can choose the language of the login screen in kdmrc but how can i specify, which keymap to use? itÙs quite annoying when typing passwords because i have adhesive letters on my keyboard so i cannot see the original ones...

for the login you need to change the keyboard configuration of your X-server (xorg or xfree, depending on your distribution).

Some distributions offer grafical tools to change it (like yast in suse), on others you need to edit the configuration file manually (usually /etc/X11/xorg.conf or /etc/X11/Xfree86.conf)
