Monitor Power Saver Stopped Working?

I know it sounds odd, but it's true. I double check my controls, they're set to turn off the monitor at 3 minutes, and still 5 minutes later no-go. What's wrong here? Why has it stopped working? It was so convenient before. I recently installed kdetv.
