Presence & Away at the same time?

When I go away, I want to set a message too (saying where I went). In every other chat program I've ever seen, I can do both those things at the same time. I understand that Kopete offers "greater functionality" because you can set those things independently (and some chat protocols, like MSN and Yahoo, allow you to have a message even when you're not away). But this is one time when I'd prefer ease of use over functionality.

So, is there a way to set status to "away," and add a message at the same time, without having to go through two separate menus?

Thanks in advance!

RE: Presence & Away at the same time?

The only thing I can think of is to use DCOP, create a desktop entry with that command and attach a (global) shortcut.

The DCOP command would be:

Source code

1
dcop kopete default setAway "Gone for 60 seconds!" true

It sets all your accounts to Away with that message.

Thanks for your reply. I'm afraid that's too much futzing for me. And then to set everything as back you still need to go through two different menus. I'm switching to Gaim.

Please take this as constructive criticism, not an attack. I can't be the only person who wants this feature. The way to increase your user base is to give the features people want. Other than this one flaw, Kopete is great. Add this feature, and I'll come back!
