KDE keeps freezing up...please help!!

KDE-3.5.4 keeps freezing up on FreeBSD-6.1 (fedora core-4.9 Linux emulator) have to do a force power down hard restart without umounting HDD...can't use KDE at all!! Tried reinstalling all ports including KDE still no change...what can I do or where can I look for the problem? Could it be as simple as a cofiguration error?

RE: KDE keeps freezing up...please help!!

Doesn't look really a KDE problem if your box completely freezes (assuming you cannot escape to some terminal with Ctrl+Alt+F1 or Ctrl+Alt+Backspace). Do you use binary graphics drivers from NVidia, ATI or something else? Most probably it's something with hardware (drivers) if this happens.
