Konqueror - how to save different file view on a per-folder basis?!

I've just started using beaglefs, a handy little application that uses the Beagle search engine to create a "virtual" folder listing files that match a search term. Works very nicely with Konqueror.

Now here's my problem: I'd like to be able to configure a separate file management view that shows the Link column right after the Name column. And I'd like to further be able to specify when a desktop shortcut is to use this profile, with the default for file browsing remaining as my standard file management profile.

I'm running KDE 3.5.5. The handbook is absolutely no help. I try to follow the instructions to create a new view profile, but each time I do this, the "filemanagement" profile is the one that gets altered, NOT the view profile I created under a new name!

Obviously the handbook hasn't been updated in a long time. Does anyone know how to actually accomplish what I'm trying to do? It just shouldn't be that hard, especially since in other ways Konqueror is such a great file manager.
