[Kopete] Prob. connecting through http proxy

Hi.
I recently installed Kubuntu 6.10.
The problem is when I'm at University.
I've added http_proxy environment variable to /etc/evnironment, and added http_proxy to KDE's System Settings | Network Settings | Proxy - Use preset proxy environment variables.
When I "echo $http_proxy" my proxy gets echoed, so nothing wrong there.
Konquerer, Kaffeine, Firefox, and Thunderbird all work. Have even tried Gaim, works fine. But I like Kopete better.
So why wont Kopete work? Is this a simple matter of Kopete not being able to connect through proxy? Protocols I use are ICQ and MSN.

RE: [Kopete] Prob. connecting through http proxy

Same here :(

I'm behind a proxy and Konqueror, Opera, Gaim .. everything works, except Kopete.

ICQ: "Verbindung getrennt" (disconnected)
Jabber: "Verbindung abgelehnt" (connection rejected)

Proxy, password and connection prefs are fine, cause they do work in gaim.

Kopete: 0.12.3
KDE: 3.5.5

Guess we're stuck with Gaim, at least until KDE 4 is out.

...connecting to protocols via an HTTP Proxy is impossible, making it utterly useless in many working environments up until KDE version 4.0...
