KDE Screen Saver missing

I installed PCLinuxOS on Sunday, Nov 5. This installed KDE 3.5.5, the kernel is 2.6.16.27.tex1.lve. Everything seemed to be working fine initially. Something has changed and now there are no Screen Savers listed at all in the KDE control center. I have tried reinstalling screensavers, but nothing changes. How can I get these back? Any ideas as to what would cause them to be removed? The Screen Savers were there after the initial installation. I am not sure what I could have done to remove them. If I were to reinstall KDE, would my current desktop settings be preserved?
