Disabling web browsing in Konqueror

Hi,

I'm looking for a way to disable web browing (i.e. access to non-local pages) in Konqueror. I tried to do so by configuring the proxy parameters, but these parameters actually apply not just to Konqueror but to many other KDE applications (such as Akregator) as well, meaning that these applications do not work properly anymore.

The reason for wanting this is that, in the event a web page is accidentally opened in Konqueror (either because I made an mistake or since some other application has decided to use Konqueror instead of my default browser), I want to eliminate all potential risks that loading such page might create. However, I do want to be able to use certain specialized KDE applications - like Akregator - to access external resources.

Does anyone know whether what I want is possible?

Hi Bo,
I'm not sure, but I think with netfilter/iptables you can create restrict access to/from the network on an application level.
I just Googled around and found that iptables had a --cmd-owner matching parameter, but this has been removed in a recent version. Now I can only find --pid-owner processid in the documentation (http://www.netfilter.org/documentation/H…ng-HOWTO-7.html).
