TAR kioslave

I've somehow managed to muck up my Konqueror setup. I longer have access to the tar kioslave, which allows .tgz, .bz2 etc. file types viewable within Konqueror, instead having the popup ask about which app to use to open/view. Karchiver, eetc. do work for me, but not as conveniently as the kioslave. I think I somehow changed the file associations?

If I create a new user and login with that username, everything is fine, but not as my normal user.

Can anyone help, point me to a way to restore the functionality.

I'm running Debia Testing, KDE 3.5.5

TIA
Joel Swartz

RE: TAR kioslave

Look in ~/.kde/share/mimelnk if there are archive related entries and remove those.
