Cant use Konqueror in Super User Mode KDE 3.5.5

Just upgraded debian to use kde 3.5.5 and super user mode doesnt work when I try to do something logged in as my regular user, What can I do to set the system to work as it did in 3.5.3? I need to be able to open Konqueror in su mode and run synaptic as root while I am logged in as my regular user

What specifically are you saying doesn't work? Do you mean the super user selections from the menu or do you mean you can't run 'kdesu konqueror'?
