osx dock at the top of the screen

a few years back I installed SuSE (dual boot) and I couldn't for the life of me get an OSX type dock to install at the top of my screen. well, when I got my new computer I never reinstalled SuSE and that was the end of linux for a while

well, about a month ago I installed ubuntu on a headless server, and I've been having a blast. I am seriously considering installing linux on my workstation.

the only problem is a few things that I can't really live without or at least without a good subsitution

* an OSX like dock at the top my screen
* foobar2000 (but I've heard it is very wine-able)
* Trillian, but I think I can find a subsitution if absoluty necessary, otherwise I'll use wine
* MYIE2, but I think I might be able to live with firefox if I have to

everything else I use will most likely be very replacable

the only one I really don't know if I can get is the OSX dock, so people, can I now get a OSX dock at the top of my screen?

thank you,
Byan
