[kopete] AOL login failure

I have a problem with the aim login. This problem seems to be the same with Miranda on Windows as well as with Kopete and Gaim on Suse 10 Linux. AOL insists that I have entered the wrong password, which I have not. Under Miranda/Windows I could solve this problem by reverting to an older aol.dll. I have also tried AIM for Linux directly, which works fine. Can anyone help? All programs are in the latest version, and I am behind a university firewall.
