Good morning to everyone :)

Good morning to everyone.

I use KDE since the 3.1 version and its easyness and friendly user interface has captured me from the first moment.

I thus never needed forum help, but today I'm confronted with a little more complicated problem, and here it is:

The ULB ( Université Libre de Bruxelles)/free Bruxelles university) radio is Moving to Linux (Praise to the Penguin!).
Almost the boring technical stuff is doen ( meaning the Sound server and the framework) and now we are at the terminal installations.

Point is my pal Fred and me decided to go for another approach on the GUI.

KDE is superfine, mind me, and that we are going to use, we simply do not trust Newbies on sending them to Kde directly without a bit of a warm up.
So here is our idea.

- The system will be built with 4 virtual desktop, each one specialized in a series of programs ( like the first one is internet, the second one office, the third one Radio related programs the fourth one pron.... Wait, we are going to think better on the fourth one.. Tongue )
- Each of the desktop will be a page that can be used to access the programs with click on icons. so it will be THE interface. No kde bar, no menus.
- To do that, the idea is to take Konqueror, strip it of each menu bar it has and arrive to the barest frame I can get, then put inside a navigator ( Like the default page of Konqueror that you get at each new install from wich you can access all the computer).
- Seen that the page is put on the background, it will be sent as "always on the bottom" config .
- After saving one Konqueror with a particular config , I'll make four different configs, one of each desktop.

SO, here is what I get:
-Four different desktops with navigation system inbuilt and seen that it is "always on bottom" set, all application opens over it.
A navigation panel for each of them that open at startup and is fixed for the system.

And here are the immediate problems for I need help:

1) How do I render the desktop unclosable? I know that this system is almost Idiot Proof, but I'M SURE that somene will do somethign like right click-> close and one of the desktop will be lost till reboot.

2) WHAT the heck is the starting page of Konqueror? A HTML file?

3) How do I write a startup konqueror? The file script should be something like that

$<execute at opening of the session>
$<open konqueror- load configuration 1- load on desktop1- put always on bottom>
$<open konqueror- load configuration 2- load on desktop2- put always on bottom>
$<open konqueror- load configuration 3- load on desktop3- put always on bottom>
$<open konqueror- load configuration 4- load on desktop4- put always on bottom>

4) what is the instruction to move from a desktop to another? I can still insert a little bar with the pager, but if I could insert a link on the Konquerors it would be less messy seen the general architecture.

5) How do I write clickable images in the konqeuror navigator? Do I need to insert a javascript?

Okay, this is for a start.
If anyone has idea to throw in, please do, Linux is nice because it is crazy Wink
