desktop shifting problem

Hi,
i've got a graphical problem in resuming display after display was turned off by the energy save program running on my laptop.
The result is screen with graphic shifted up as in a roller! The top portion is in the bottom and the bottom part is just above the (ex) top portion.
Is it a config problem, a driver problem or what?

kde 3.3 on debian 3.1, kernel 2.4.27 with nvidia module correctly added in kernel image.(nvidia module provided by kernel sources, no extra driver for nvidia added)

Dont' suggest me to turn off the energy save program..

Thanks in advance.
Matteo.
