No kwallet icon in tray

Is there a file somewhere that makes the kwallet icon appear in the system tray. I've tried uninstalling and reinstaling kwallet. I can sometimes run kwalletmanager, but nothing I do in there seems to do anything.

I used to be able to open the wallet (still exists on my computer) and see the passwords I set up for sites visited long ago.

Well, KWallet is still working, whether it's not on the system tray. To make it visible on the system tray, launch KWalletManager (press Alt+F2, and type in kwalletmanager) then go to Settings > Configure Wallet > Wallet Preferences tab > check/enable "Show manager in system tray".

Hope that helps.

kwalletmanager does not do it

Thanks for trying, but running kwalletmanager doesn't work. I run it, and it exits without doing anything. Only kwallet window I can get to open is the kwallet configuration menu in KDE configuration. Enable wallet system is checked, but nothing seems to have any effect.

In the same place in KControl, where you enabled the wallet system, check/enable the "Show manager in system tray" option near the bottom.

kwalletmanager again

Nope, I appreciate the effort, but the check box is checked - but there is no icon appearing. I was hoping there was a config file somewhere I could edit to get it working, because the GUI appear to be doing nothing. Mine is broke.
