Focus issue

This is something that is REALLY disturbing. Really with a BIG "A".

I like to control my computer with only my keyboard.. and every time i close a window, EVERYTHING looses focus. I cant alt-tab to a window, and inputs from the keyboard is ignored.

So i have to reach my hand ALL the way to the mouse, click at some window, and ALL the way back again.

Thats a long journey for my hand.

Is this fixable?

Which KDE version are you using?
I am using KDE3.5.4 and I do not have this problem (it doesn't matter which way I close the window: Alt+F4, Strg+W, Strg+Q, it's always working fine afterwards). And I can't remember having had this problem with any KDE version since KDE3.4.x.

If you are using an older version of KDE, you could try upgrading KDE, if possible.
