[kopete] history plugin problem

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but seemingly have history enabled in kopete (the box for history in plugins was checked by default), but when I try to view the logs (with the history browser edit->view history) there is nothing there. ex. No contacts have any history saved. Additionally, i have manually entered the .kde/share/apps/kopete/logs/AIMprotocol folder but it is empty (the parent folder, logs, is empty as well). Have I missed a step? I would really like to have the history plugin working. Thanks.

I'm using Kopete 0.11.3 in Kubuntu Dapper (kde 3.5.3)

Are you sure the permissions are right to the .kde/share/apps/kopete/logs folder?

yes, the permissions are set correctly (owner can view/modify). However, I have upgraded to kde 3.5.4 and kopete was upgraded to 0.12.1, and history works fine now. Sorry to bug and thanks for your help anyway.
