Please help identify mystery icon

What does the Konqueror folder icon with the plug mean?

Can I do anything special with it?

I think it means it has been shared through nfs or samba.

Your right it's a shared folder. Being a backups folder your either backing up and moving them off the machine or backing up from somewhere else and storing them there?

Yes, must be Samba. That folder is shared. It certainly isn't very intuitive. It would be nice if it were an image of a Samba dancer/dress.
