Only low resolutions possible?

hi,

With debian, I just installed KDE using apt-get. When I got the wizard of Xserver, I selected that my monitor is capable of showing resolutions up to 1600x1200, till a resolution of 800x600.

However, when I booted KDE, it was in a resolution of 640x480. Though strange, I thought to just change it in the control panel of KDE, however, 640x480 is the highest resolution I can select, and 320x240 the lowest...... not really my intension.

I checked already on /etc/X11/XF86-Config-4, but al resolutions I found there were right.

Anybody knows how I can get KDE with my favourable 1200x768 or 1600x1200?

Thanks in advance,

Freakingme

p.s. i don't know any other sources to check out and attatch here for i'm really a kDE noob.
