KDE on Memory Stick?

Hi everybody,
I never used linux and i'm thinking to learn to use Kde, so i have a question for experts.
my laptop have a slot for memory stick pro duo 2.
I would to know if is possible, using a card of 4gb/8gb, install Kde on the card, and to use it like a second hard disk. So, at the start of computer i can decide if start windows from the hard disk, or Kde from the card.
I know that is possible make a dedicated partition on hard disk for kde, but i've heard the Nand memory are faster that a normal HD.
I thanks now who will have the patience to give me an anwser.
