kate or another text editor to have a fast start-up

Does kde have a simpler text editor than kate? I mean kate is a vrey good one, but I often edit small files and I want something to start instantly, like the notepad from windows. The first kate startup is 3-4 second and a warm one is more than 1 second. In windows the uncomplicated things you use for 30 seconds to edit a file or a picture, like notepad and paint start in such a small period of time. 1-2 seconds is not much, but it is about te feeling.
Enjoy

How about kwrite, the stripped down/simplified version of kate? or how aobut installing kedit, which was the former basic text editor for KDE.

This is also one of the things I'm a bit disappointed about in KDE. Kate is really cool because of so many features. But the price was a slow startup. And this is the default text editor for KDE. I wish they could make Kate start up faster, without stripping of it's functionalities. But I guess since Kate is the KDE Advanced Text Editor (which is what Kate stands for), it might not happen. :(

Thanks, now Kedit is my default text editor. I see this is a feature that other people want too. About the startup time, I have seen some big optimisations, so I think it is posible, yet someone would have to decide if it worth the time.
Enjoy
