[Kopete]

My problem is, webcam doesn't work. Sending or Recieving. Do I need some kind of plugin? It's just everyone is telling me Kopete has support for it, and I can see it does the functions just don't work.

If you want someone to help you, you should provide more details. Which version of Kopete you are using, with which protocol you want to use your webcam, what kind of webcam you own, which module you are using, if your webcam is working with other applications and so on.
If you do so, it will be much more likely that someone can help you.

And to answer your first question: No, you do not need a special plugin in order to use your webcam with kopete, all you need is a working webcam and a recent version of Kopete (version 0.12 would be best).

Kopete 0.12.0 is what I'm using. I'm trying to use it with MSN, I own a logitech quickcam express, but it's not really mine I'm worried about. It's just recieving the webcam. By module I'm not quite sure what you mean.

With module, I meant which kernel module you are using for your webcam. But if you only want to recieve webcam, it is not important which webcam and module you are using.

Are you behind a router? If so, you should forward a port for incoming webcam connections and configure Kopete to use this port for an incoming webcam connection. For Kopete. this setting is to be found in the settings of your MSN-account, there it is available at the tab "Connection" (I don't now how it is labeled in English, I am using German Kopete).

Ok thankyou, I'll check that out and see if it works. I'll also get back to you on the module, it ends in -23 I know that.
