downloading installation files

When I start downloading kde with gentoo linux, the first files go well, but 1 file cannot be downloaded ( I can't connect to the server ) and the computer gets stuck there and must be rebooted. I can ping to internet sites and my router... Is there anything I have to do? Or should I ask on the forum of my distribution?
