KCD won't play cd's
KCD was working fine(cd writer drive). Then I added a second player(cd 24x). KCD worked for a while then went dead("no cd"). I tried switching from cable select switches to master slave, no effect. I switched back to cable select. I tried reinstalling the OS, no effect. Windows has no problem reading either cd player. SUSE LINUX/KDE reads data cd's in both drives. I checked the all the cables. The sound cable goes from the sound card to the 24x drive. Tried switching to the cd writer, no effect(back on 24x).
HP 8200 CD writer plus
24x cd's(will have open case to get at name)

it is possibly trying to access the other device - make sure you have the correct device set in the configuration.
What happens when you visit the audiocd:/ location in konqueror?
Can you view the contents of the cd?
Read write permissions messed up? Are you part of the optical group?

I can view CD's with my computer. I checked permissions, everything is ok. Someone else told me to check the cd device in KCD options. It was set to some unknown item(desktop?). Once I set the device to CDROM, it worked. I never changed or entered that menu. KCD isn't being setup right on install. Thanks...
