Kopete - Why I stopped using it

I have stopped using Kopete and switched to Gaim because: I can't start a new line in chat - enter sends message and there seems to be no way to change this.
If I try and send a message to an offline icq contact it tells me to try a protocol that supports offline messaging (it does!).
Also if I click devices in setup it crashes.
Often refuses to connect to anything even though it was connecting the previous occasion.

RE: Kopete - Why I stopped using it

Please don't complain here, but complain on http://bugs.kde.org . Mocking about Kopete doesn't make the application any better, since most developers usually don't read this forum.

The first complaint is about the new lines. Try this: go to Settings->Configure Shortcuts and assign a shortcut to the Send Message action.

And which version were you using? It might be useful to upgrade to the second beta of Kopete 0.12, maybe some of the issues you mentioned are fixed in the meantime.
