The (basic) variant of the (us) layout has disappeared from kxkb

Hi!

I've just installed kde 3.4.3 on a Gentoo box, and I realized I had the same problem in a Slackware box with kde 3.5.0. The basic variant has disappeared from the drop down box in kxkb for the us layout. The only option I have is intl. I do need that intl variant, but I also need basic. In the layout list, there are two other us english options: w/deadkeys (us_intl) and w/iso9995-3 (en_US). My problem is with US English (us). I'm using a pc104 keyboard.

Bear in mind that I hadn't noticed this in the Slackware box: the basic variant was working, but when I checked, I realized that it was not an option. How it was working, I don't know.

I've fixed my problem by setting the appropriate options in xorg.conf, but it would be really nice to have the little flags in the system tray working properly again :) I don't have window switching wit raw xkb options...

Anyone with the same problem?

Thanks!
