[kopete] icq sending UIN/password encrypted?

Is there any possibility to have your UIN and password sent encrypted when connecting to ICQ with kopete?
I am connected to the internet via LAN and my subnet is connected via hub. So it is especially easy for anyone else to detect my UIN and password. It would be great if I could connect via a secure connection, but I do not see any option in the ICQ settings.

Thank you in advance.

RE: [kopete] icq sending UIN/password encrypted?

No, it's not possible to encrypt it and it's also not possible to connect via a secure connection. If you use Jabber with an ICQ transport, you at least get a secure connection between you and the jabber server, but the jabber server will still conform to the OSCAR protocol (AIM/ICQ) when sending your login information for the transport.
